I arrived in Madrid from Seville on the fast train. And fast it is. They advertise wifi, but I have yet to see it work. So just so you know, don’t believe everything you read. 

Coming out of the train station, I hopped into a taxi. And I did get ripped off. The driver added 5 euros on top of what the meter said. I asked him why it was more and he muttered something about an extra fee from the train station. When I checked into my accommodations, I asked about this charge. It does not exist. So, I am sharing this, so perhaps you will not get ripped off.  Next time I would simply suggest that I will call the police. I think that is a highly effective response.
