In Kelowna, British Columbia, off the beaten path...

Sometimes it is just nice to get away for the weekend. Kelowna, is about 5 hours from Vancouver, and sits on the Okanagan Lake shoreline, and we go there for something a little different. It is gorgeous country out there, with a much dryer climate than Vancouver, this is our play ground. Kelowna also has a very strong art community. This is a vibrant city, with lots of outdoor activities. I love hiking around here!

I photographed this hummingbird at the accommodations we stayed in while visiting Naramata. Naramata is in the Okanagan, which is about another 4 hour drive from Vancouver. This area is wine country, and has a much dryer climate, which is alway welcome to us Vancouverites that reside in the rain forest.

Xmas day in Pitt Meadows, which is about an hour from our house. This is definitely a short voyage but well worth it.
