Barcelona on the beach
I am staying in a hotel near Espana Plaza close to Mount Juic Park. Mount Juic Park is a jewel! Not only is there a castle, but the Museu Nacional D’art de Cataluna is also there. At night there is also the magic fountain which is lit up much to tourists delight.
I am spending 8 days here, as there is so much to see. This is the architect Gaudi’s town. I find It is a very whimsical style, very artistic and full of colour. It is so unique and can not be mistaken for anyone else.
There are huge line ups to see his works, so I would suggest buying tickets online ahead of time, and they seemed cheaper as well, rather than the booths that sell tickets. I did not want to wait for hours for all of his exhibitions. I did go to Park Güell, but there were a lot of renovations happening, making it difficult to get good photos.
I took the hop on hop off bus for 2 days which I purchased online, at the cheapest price. This really helped me get a sense of the city, but I had 8 days, I can not imagine doing this in 2 days!
The beaches are absolutely stunning. This city is very well designed and there are so many cafes and restaurants along the beach. I only spent one day by the beach, as the weather was really unpredictable during my whole stay. It was very much like Vancouver.
